Detailed Description
Fuse box and custom mounting plate designed for bolt in under dash installation
All required hardware supplied
Location selected for easy accessibility and clearance of under dash accessories such as DAKOTA DIGITAL instruments, RAINGEAR wiper systems, VINTAGE AIR heat and air conditioning systems, IDIDIT and FLAMING RIVER steering columns, and late model GM tilt steering columns
Heater control panel lighting, power, and blower motor leads are included for original style heaters as well as aftermarket heat and A/C updates such as Vintage Air, etc.
Connections are also wired in for the glove box, cigarette lighter and even the original clock in the passenger side dash bezel
Headlight bucket grommets, parking light weatherproof boot and tube assemblies and light sockets are included for 1955-’56.
Parking light bar components supplied for 1957.
Instrument Cluster wiring is designed with a “cluster harness disconnect”. This makes service easier by unplugging and removing the cluster housing
All original terminals, connectors, and light sockets are supplied for original cluster gauges. However, the best aspect to the disconnect is that any gauge cluster package can be easily and neatly wired in. This includes Dakota Digital, VDO, Autometer, Rod Tech, Classic Instruments, and Stewant Warner to name a few
Rear body harness assembly that is designed to plug into the main harness in the original under dash position to utilize existing retention clips
Flexibility in harness design allows for original or custom routing
New ignition switch is included with indexed connector
Additional connectors and instructions are provided to use the original 1955-’56 and 1957 ignition switches
Replacement headlight switch with internal circuit breaker included
Retention collar nut, adjustable length shaft, and custom knob are also included
Extra connectors and instructions are supplied for installation of original 1955-’56 and 1957 headlight switches
Ignition switch connectors for GM steering columns with ignition switch in the column are included
Rear body wiring includes backup light lead wires and mating connectors for backup light assemblies
License plate connectors and terminals included
Fuel tank sender wire and terminal included
Special terminals included for original style door jamb switches and overhead dome light
Engine wiring includes connectors for both points type and HEI distributors
Power and tachometer connectors supplied for GM HEI distributors
Alternator connectors are supplied for GM “SI” series internal regulator alternators (the most common for alternator conversions)
Engine wiring includes standard starter and gauge sender leads for water temperature, oil pressure, and tachometer
Heavy 8 gauge alternator leads are supplied
Power circuits are fusible link protected
Accessory disconnect provided for connections to power windows, power seats, cruise control, fuel pump, power door locks, extra radio (CB) or optional power accessory
New floor dimmer switch is provided
Wire length and connection accommodate original floor mount dimmer switch
Front lighting includes extra long leads for special routing when custom under hood appearance is desired
All headlight, park light and directional light connectors and terminals are provided as well as wiring for electric engine fan
Original design rear body weatherproof boot and tube assemblies and original design light sockets make attachment to tail light assemblies an easy plug-in
Lead wires are long enough to accommodate all body styles (including wagons)
Steering column connectors will plug directly into most aftermarket steering columns utilizing GM turn signal switches as well as late model GM columns from 1969 and later
Original columns can also be wired by using the supplied mateing connector and terminals
