Detailed Description

Original dome lighting is included in the wiring system. Additionally the Classic Update Kit includes under dash lighting and enough spare circuits to add power door locks, power windows and much more
The 18 fuse, 21 circuit fuse box comes completely ready to install under the dash
The harness was manufactured to accommodate the factory dash supports while not interfereing with any aftermarket equipment that you install under the dash now, or in the future
Factory replacement items such as the original light harness grommets, headlight and park light connectors are also included. (This makes installation easy since you don't have to save and reuse old parts)
All of the Classic Update Kits come ready to connect to the updated alternator and original coil/distributor or most aftermarket systems without the needs for additional parts
Original design rear body weatherproof boot and tube assemblies and original design light sockets make attachement to the original or reproduction tail light assemblies as easy plug-in.
The dash cluster disconnect system, unique to American Autowire, is included in every complete kit. Using low insertion force connectors means that assembly and disassembly just became significantly less time consuming and cumbersome.
The fuse box and custom mounting plate are designed for bolt-in under dash installation
All required hardware is supplied
Instrument cluster wiring is designed with a "cluster harness disconnect" system for easy service and assembly
All original terminals, connectors, and light sockets are also supplied for original cluster gauges
Steering column connectors will plug directly into most aftermarket steering columns as well as 1969 and later GM columns which utilize stock GM turn signal switches
The original column can also be wired by using the supplied mating connector and terminals
Under dash light sockets, door jamb switches, new ignition switch, replacement headlight switch with internal circuits breaker, retention collar nut, adjustable length shaft, and custom knob are also included!
Engine wiring includes connectors for points type and HEI distributors
Power & Tach connectors are supplied for GM HEI distributors. Alternator connectors are supplied for GM"SI" series internal regulator alternators
The rear body harness assembly is designed to plug into the main harness in the original utilizing existing retainers
Flexibility in harness design allows for original or custom routing
